These oar mounts allow the oars to be stowed parallel to the length of the boat, and fully outside the area of the pontoons on which I place my fishing gear bags. They are constructed from two 1/2" PVC Tees, and a small length of 1/2" PVC pipe. Comparing the above photos with the following photos, you can see how the oar blades are trapped between the oar mounts and the pontoons. The inward pressure of the oar mounts against the oar shafts is balanced by the outward pressure of the pontoons against the oar blades, keeping the oars nicely stowed.
